Mrs. Brown died 25- Jun-1983 in Anadarko, Caddo, Ok. at the age of 101. Burial was in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko under the direction of Hansen- Binyon Chapel of Verden. Mrs. Brown was born 13-May-1882 near Cedar Creek, Missouri. She married 24-Dec-1902, Walter Brown, at Cedar Creek. A few years later they moved to Caddo county and made their home in Stecker until 1944 when they moved to Pryor in northeastern Oklahoma due to her failing health. They served as houseparents at the Whitaker State Orphanage. After their retirement they lived in Salina, Mayes, Ok. After the death of her husband on 11-Jan-1953, when she moved back to Pryor. She moved to Verden in 1973. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Apache, Caddo,Ok., but attended the First Baptist Church in Verden. She was preceded in death by her husband; three daughters, Velma Dolores and Audrey Brown and Lola Maye Patterson; one son, Ray Brown. Survivors include one daughter; one son; two sisters; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
