Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery east of Apache under the direction of the Crews Funeral Home of Apache. Brown was born 30-Jun-1905 at Pittsburg, Camp co., Tex. to Samuel Russell and Carrie Moore (Bockmon) Brown. He married 23-Dec-1933 Amanda Virginia Lee at Anadarko, Ok. He moved to Oklahoma from Morris county, Texas in 1932. He farmed in the Broxton community northwest of Apache until his retirement in 1987. He worked on the construction of the Talimena Drive in eastern Oklahoma and on the Fort Cobb Dam. He also worked at the Fort Cobb Gin. He was a member of the Broxton School Board from 1950 until 1970 and was clerk of the board for several years. He was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, located south of Fort Cobb, from 1948 until 1973. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Apache. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Marguerite (Brown) Hall, Carolyn (Brown) Bolton and Evelyn Daisy (Brown) Beene; one brother, Ray Lee 'R.L.' Brown. He is survived by his wife, three sons, three daughters, 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters.
