Bryan II, M.D. George Edward Bryan II, M.D., 53, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Prescott. Dr. Bryan was born in Hinton on Dec. 19, 1949, to George Edward and Lois Vincent Bryan. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1968 and attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where he received a B.S. in chemistry and biology. He then went on to earn his medial degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 1976. Dr. Bryan had an 11-year military career, during which time he completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Neurology. Upon leaving the military in 1987, he moved to Flagstaff, Ariz., where he went into private practice until 1989. Dr. Bryan then moved to Prescott where he opened his neurology practice. He quickly became a valued and beloved member of the community, practicing medicine with faith, compassion and exceptional skill. He was selected as one of the “Top Docs” in Phoenix magazine numerous times, as well as being voted one of the “Best Doctors in America” by his peers. Dr. Bryan met his wife, Leanne, while at Austin College and they married eight years later. He considered his children Brady, Joann, Amy and Maggie among his greatest blessings in life. The family was active in the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and his faith carried through into all parts of his life. Dr. Bryan is survived by his wife and children; sister, Suzanne Bryan and her children, David, Mary, George and Lois; his father and mother-in-law, Joann and Rupert Phillips; and his sisters-in-law Amy and Martha. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lois, and his father, George. “The world has suffered a great loss, but heaven has gained an angel. We know you are watching over us!
