Officiating at the service was the Rev. Troy Manley of Fort Cobb, Ok. Services were under the direction of Smith Funeral Chapel of Anadarko. Burns was born 15-Jun-1928 in Duncan, Stephens county, Ok. to James Fair and Virgie Ethel (Clarkston) Burns. He married Babe Ruth Richardson 30-Oct-1948 in North Platte, Neb. He had been a resident of Gracemont for many years. He had been employed as custodian for the Anadarko Public schools before his retirement. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Gracemont Baptist Church. Preceding him in death was his wife; his parents; three sisters, Louise Riddles, Lucille Bryant and Nelda Robertson; two nephews, Jim Bryant and Melvin Eugene Bryant and one niece, Charlotte Burns. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Jane Johnson of Chickasha, Ok.; an adopted son, Jonathan Burns of Lawton, Ok.; a stepson, Elwood Southwick of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Edith Sharp of Blanchard, Ok. and Donna Jean Hicks of Dibble, Ok.; and three brothers, Don Burns of Purcell, Ok., Delbert Burns of Dibble and F.W. 'Red' Burns of Gracemont.
