All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star Thursday, 25 August 2005 RACHEL [LEWIS] COSSEY Funeral services for Rachel Cossey, age 77, of Cement, will be Friday, August 26, 2005, at 2 P.M., at the Assembly of God church in Cement. Rev. Edward Whitley, Rev. Johnny Wray, and Rev. Mike Bates will officiate Rachel Cossey was born the daughter of John Henry Lewis and Mollie Ethel Young on July 14, 1928 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. She died on August 23, 2005 at her home. Rachel grew up in rural Anadarko, helping her family on the farm. She married Granville Cossey on February 20, 1946 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. In 1957, she and Granville moved north of Cement, where they farmed and ranched. During this time, she and her lifetime friend, Genevieve Blakley, catered weddings and baked birthday cakes. Most important to her was being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was known and loved by many as Aunt Rachel and Ma Cossey. Rachel attended the Assembly of God Church in Cement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville, parents, one brother, Johnny Cecil Lewis, and one sister, Owilda Taylor. She is survived by: Daughter & Husband: Dorothy & Keith Woodward of Cement; Son & Wife: Bo & Jennifer Cossey of Cement; Brother & Wife: Bill & Pauline Lewis of Anadarko; Sister & Husband; Ruth and Ed Whitley of Anadarko; Granddaughter & Husband: Trish & Mark Green of Apache Junction, Arizona; Granddaughter & Husband: Inita & Paul Denton of Germany; Grandson & Wife; Calvin & Amy Sales of Alexandrea, Nebraska; Grandson: Brock Cossey of Cement; Granddaughters: Kalie Cossey, Brooke Cossey, and Mackenzie Cossey all of Cement. Great Grandchildren: Lyssah Green, Joey Denton, Jordan Sales, Chad Denton, Brandon Sales, Lenne Green, and Andon Sales. Burial will be in the Laverty Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Cement, Thursday, from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M., and Friday from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.
