Mr. Cottrell died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at his home. ========= Lawton Constitution August 29, 2003 Tommy Dale 'Red' Cottrell FLETCHER -- Funeral for Tommy Dale "Red" Cottrell, 41, Fletcher, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Fletcher First Baptist Church with A.L. Swagerty and Mike Tompkins, director of missions for Comanche-Cotton Baptist Association, officiating. Mr. Cottrell died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Paradise Hill Cemetery, Cement, under direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born April 25, 1962, in Cyril, to Jerry and Joyce Glasco Cottrell. He grew up in Fletcher and graduated from Fletcher High School in 1980. He worked in the oil field a short time before joining the Navy in 1982. In 1988 he started work at Eddie Warrior Correctional Center in Muskogee. He later became administrator of the Frederick Work Center and then of the Altus Work Center. He was a warden's assistant at Lawton Community Corrections Center, and most recently was the court liaison for the Department of Corrections at Oklahoma County Court House. He married Cherie Miller on Oct. 16, 1999, on the family farm. He was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church and the Poor Boys Tractor Club. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons: Tommy Brant Cottrell, Lawton; and Daniel Cottrell, Medicine Park; a daughter, Jeri Ann Cottrell, Medicine Park; his parents, Fletcher; a sister, Shelia DeCordova, Piedmont; paternal grandmother, Wilma Cottrell, Cement, three nieces; a nephew; special friends: Danny Joe, Tanner and Alf; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Grant Cottrell; a brother, Randy Cottrell; his paternal grandfather, Delbert Cottrell; and maternal grandparents, C.C. and Lorena Glasco.
