(Poppy) Clift, 100, Cement, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 1988, in the Assembly of God Church, Cement, with the Rev. Alvin Roberts of the Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church officiating. He was born in Edgar Springs, Phelps county, Mo. on March 29, 1888, the son of Andrew Jackson Clift and Martha Ellen Heavin Clift. He died Sunday, December 4, 1988, in Grady Memorial Hospital, Chickasha. He was married on February 13, 1910, at Anadarko to Alpha Myrtle Karnes. She preceded him in death on February 2, 1972. He was a member of the Cement Assembly of God Church and the Cement Senior Citizens. Mr. Clift was a retired farmer. He lived in the Anadarko area until 1908, moving to the Cyril and Cement areas where he lived for the rest of his life. Survivors include seven daughters, Hazel Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mayme Morton of Crescent, Iva Baxter of Lawton, Ola Clift of Cement, Doris Marsh of Wichita, Wilma Acton of Lawton, Pauline Morris of Elgin; three sons, Wayne of Cleburne, Texas, Glen of Lexington and Donnie; 28 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Earl, and one daughter, Zelina Lorene Clift. Burial will be at Cement Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. (NOTE: William Clarence was the grandson of Andrew Jackson Clift, Sr. and Sarah Ann Mason; and Gordon Minett Heavin and Susan Jett Karnes. His father, Andrew Jackson Clift, Jr. was born 14-Aug-1865 in Washington county, Mo. and died Jul-1945 at Cement, Caddo county, Ok. His mother, Martha Ellen Heavin was born 16-Apr-1865 at Edgar Springs, Phelps county, Mo. and died 01-May-1950 at Cement, Caddo county, Ok. Both of his parents are buried in the Cement Cemetery.
