Coleman Funeral services were held 17-Aug-1956 in the First Baptist Church in Cyril for Henry L. Coleman who died 13-Aug-1956 at Cyril. Coleman was born 26-Apr-1878 at Hot Springs, Arkansas to Lewis and Mary (Crews) Coleman. He married 18-Oct-1899 in St. Charles, Missouri to Margaret Davis. They moved to Cyril in January of 1902, being one of Cyril's first residents. He took an active part in the development of the town where he helped organize the first school around 1908. He was also a member of the first school board. He farmed in the vicinity a few years when he first came and later was engineer at the Acme rock quarry northeast of Cyril for a number of years. He was one of the first members of the Baptist church in Cyril having joined the congregation in 1907. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Hugh Coleman of Cyril; Joe Coleman of Oklahoma City; and Earl Lee Coleman of Winton, California; two daughters, Mary Hicks of Oklahoma City and Alice Yount of Winton, California; 10 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. --------------------------------------------------------------------
