All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Memory Lane Cemetery--Anadarko OK © The Chickasha Express-Star 09 Jan 2004 Juanita Mae Clark-Leighton Juanita Mae Clark-Leighton was born July 6, 1917 near Apache, Oklahoma, to Charley and Angie (Knipfel) Moran, and passed from this life on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years and 6 months, following a lengthy illness. Juanita grew up in Apache and graduated from Apache High School. She attended business college in Anadarko for 2 years. She married Lloyd Clark of Anadarko, and they lived all over Texas and New Mexico with Phillips Petroleum Company. They moved back to Anadarko in 1965 from Grants, New Mexico, where Juanita had worked as a bank teller. She went to work at the Anadarko Bank and Trust as a teller in 1965 and retired in 1979. She and Richard Leighton were married on February 11, 1977, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They were members of the Twilighters Club and for several years enjoyed traveling with them and going camping. Juanita liked to sew, and enjoyed her flower gardens. She also loved birds. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anadarko. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by Mr. Clark and Mr. Leighton. Survivors include her son, Gary Dean Clark and his wife Sharon of Tuttle, her daughter, Anita "Susie" Slater and her husband Roger of Anadarko; stepdaughter Betty Mackey and her husband Burl of Stroud, Oklahoma; stepson Neil Leighton and his wife Betty of Mountain View; grandchildren, Garret Dean Clark and his wife Tiffany of Del City, April Franklin and her husband Russell of Oklahoma City, Ronnie Davidson of Tuttle, Chance Slater and his wife Robin of Elgin, Terry Slater and his wife Trish of Vernon, Texas; step-grandchildren, Kathy, Greg and Mark Mackey, Bethany, Brian and Brennan Leighton; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Farmer of Chickasha and Melvina Coleman of Baltimore, Maryland; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and loving friends. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. Chuck Gilbert, officiating, with Rev. Burl Mackey assisting.
