Carr, was born Dec. 10, 1887 near Topeka, Kansas, and departed this life at the home of her parents on Saturday June 16, 1928, at the age of 40 years, 6 months, and 6 days of a lingering disease of dropsy and heart trouble, being affected with dropsy since 1913. Emily united with the M.E. Church South when 10 years of age and lived a devoted Christian life. She leaves to mourn her departure her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Carr; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Patrick of San Antonio, Tex., and Mrs. Florence Bell of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Walter and Louis, and two little nephews, besides a host of other relatives and friends. The floral offerings weree beautiful. The services were held at the Hopewell Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, June 17, conducted by Rev. DeWitt, Methodist minister of Fort Cobb. Her favorite hymns and last request, "Nearer My God To Thee", "Rock of Ages", "Safe In The Arms of Jesus", and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee", were rendered by the choir. Pallbearers were Misses Hazel Crabtree, Della Mae Berndsen, Lillie Orrell, Thelma Beck, Wandeline McPherson and Pearl Cheeks.
