All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Elizabeth Marie Curnutt HIGGINS - Elizabeth Marie Peoples Curnutt, 84, died Friday, May 28, 1999, in Canadian. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Higgins First United Methodist Church with Terry Tyson, associate pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Edith Ford Cemetery at Canadian by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Curnutt was born in Carnegie, Okla. She graduated from Carnegie High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. She married Orla H. Curnutt in 1932 at Arnett, Okla. They moved to Canadian, where they lived until 1967. They then lived in Mexia until moving to Higgins in 1980. Mr. Curnutt died in 1986. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Canadian. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Higgins and a past member of First United Methodist churches in Canadian and Mexia. Survivors include a son, Boyd Curnutt of Port Lavaca; two daughters, Karen Eggleston of Higgins and Joyce Givhan of Midland; four brothers, Earl Dean Peoples, Ira "Peewee" Peoples and Bill Peoples, all of Henrietta, Okla., and Ace Peoples of Dallas; two sisters, Florence Gentzel of Borger and Shirley Peoples of Plainview; eight grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren. The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society; the Parkinson's Disease Foundation; or First United Methodist Church in Higgins. The body will be available for viewing from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at StickleyHill Funeral Directors in Canadian; and from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Higgins.
