Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== Johnnie DeVaughan Sr Ringer - Services for Johnnie Ray DeVaughan Sr., 68, of Binger will be held at 10am Friday, May 4, 2001 at the Church of God of Binger with the Rev Ron Nelson and the Rev Bob Heddlesten officiating. He was born Aug 4, 1932 in Faxon to Zed Farris and Ilma Flora (McCarty) DeVaughan and died Wednesday May 2, 2001. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother-in-law, William Fessell. His family moved to Binger when he was four years old. His family attend the Church of God in Binger for many years. He attended Binger School and part way through the 12th grade he decided to go into the service. He was in the United States Army for three years. He married LaVonna Dean April 21, 1956 in Grandfield with the service conducted by Johnnie's uncle. A very close friend through all the school years was Buck Sitton and they remained friends through all the years. The couple made may close friends over the 39 years he worked at Western Farmer's Electric of Anadarko. His hobbies were raising cattle, and his coffee club at the cafe. He enjoyed many happy times drinking coffee with Bro. Nelson, Kermit Gardner, Louie King and Buck Sitton and before his passing Lloyd Gatlin and many more. He accepted the Lord several years ago. He and his wife attended a small church at Fort Cobb Lake, Family Worship Church, where he was the song leader. He loved to sing. The church spent all on helping the needy and building a church in the Philippine Islands. He loved his wife and family Survivors include his wife of 45 years of the home; two sons, Jerry DeVaughan and Johnnie Ray DeVaughan Jr. and his wife Sandra; one daughter Rhonda Rae Allen and her husband Paul; six grandchildren who meant the world to him, Michael Paul Allen, Joshua Wayne Allen, Adam Ray Allen, Kevin DeVaughan, Johnnie Ray DeVaughan III and Jenna Renea DeVaughan; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Zeke DeVaughan; six brothers, J C DeVaughan and his wife June, and Darwin and his wife Linda all of Binger. Beryl DeVaughan and his wife Mary of Anadarko, Royce DeVaughan and his special friend, Connie of Douglas KS, Zed DeVaughan Jr of Stillwater and Bobby DeVaughan and his wife Elsa of West Barnstable MA, two sisters, Naomi Fissel and Darlene Wilson, both of Mustang, and also mourning his passing are many nieces, nephews, as well as a host of friends. Burial will be in Binger's Murray Cemetery under the direction of the Hinton-Tuner Funeral Home of Hinton. Pallbearers will be Terry Lisenberry, Jimmy Morse, Scott Allen, Tracy Walsh, Dan Sisson and Jeff Englebretson. Honorary pallbearers are Louis Kin, Kermit Gardner and Buck Sitton.
