All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Daily Oklahoman 30 Jul 2002 Ellison, Rosemary Love Rosemary Love Ellison, 64, of Anadarko passed away after a short illness on Friday, July 26, 2002 in Oklahoma City. She was born February 21, 1938 in Charleston, WV. Ms. Ellison graduated from Barnard College in 1960 and did graduate study in primitive art and archaeology at Columbia University. She worked first as a volunteer and later as Assistant Curator of Primitive Art and New World Cultures at the Brooklyn Museum, and in 1964 was employed as Curator of the Southern Plains Indian Museum and Crafts Center in Anadarko, operated by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board, U.S. Dept. of Interior, where she served until her death. Rosemary also served as Supervisor of The Museum of the Plains Indian in Browning, MT, and the Sioux Indian Museum in Rapid City, SD, also operated by the U.S. Department of Interior. Rosemary is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Glass of Morgantown, WV, and her nephew, Roy Lee Ellison III of Tulsa. A memorial service will be held at the Southern Plains Indian Museum on Wednesday, July 31st. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Southern Plains Indian Museum Assoc., 715 E.
