The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Embry, Stanfield, Guesby Arsilla Earlene Embry, 86, of Ponca City, OK was born one of seven children May 15, 1913 in Anadarko to George W. and Rosie (Stanfield) Guesby and died Saturday, March 25, 2000 at the S. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Ponca City. He married Robert Embry. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was raised and attended schools in Anadarko, graduating from Lincoln High School. She then attended Langston University and graduated in 1939 with her bachelor of science degree in education. She then resided in Gila Bend, Ariz., for a number of years as she taught third grade classes. She was selected as "Woman of the Year" for 1973-1974 by the National Federation of Business and Professional Club. After the death of her husband in 1974, she moved to Ponca City to be near her family. She was of Baptist faith and enjoyed sewing, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, and visiting with her family and friends. Burial was in the I.O.O.F.
