Cora Fisher Rites Held Graveside rites for Cora Fisher, 89, of Fort Cobb, were held at the Fort Cobb Cemetery under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home. Robert Rusher, minister of the Fort Cobb Church of Christ, officiated. A chorus from the Church of Christ and a grandson, Terrence Fisher, sang 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'Amazing Grace.' Cora Harris was born January 22, 1903 at Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Bob and Rilla Harris and died January 31, at Binger. When she was 11 the family moved to Oklahoma and settled in the Fort Cobb area. She was married to Stephen John Fisher, March 30, 1921 at Fort Cobb. The Fishers lived in the rural area where they farmed and raised their family. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband John, June 16, 1981; both parents; two brothers, Troy and Roy; and one sister, Cordia. Survivors include one son, Leonard Fisher of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Leo (Cora Alice) Kerns of Dennison, Texas; two sisters, Lora Phillips and Lecy Starr both of Fort Cobb; one brother, Jess Harris of Grand Junction, Colorado; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
