All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Opal Pauline Fleming Sept. 25, 1925 Sept. 16, 2002 Opal was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and came to California with her family in 1939. She came to reside in Bakersfield in 1959 giving service with a smile at many local restaurants for over forty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Plumlee, brother, Marvin Plumlee, son, Eddie Blaylock, and granddaughter, Lindy Chanley Dalton. Opal was supported through her illness and death, as she was in life by her loving family. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Alice Rector; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Dan Dalton, Corbet Fleming; brothers, Clifton, Kenneth, and Clint Plumlee; sisters, Gladys Spangler, Earlene Goodman, Vivian Vaughn, Barbara Burge; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She truly loved all the little children. We would like to especially thank sisters, Barbara and Earlene for all the hard work, and loving care given to Opal.
