Gooden FLETCHER — Funeral for Rex P. Gooden, 67, Fletcher, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Apache First Baptist Church with the Rev. A.L. Swagerty officiating. Mr. Gooden died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Apache, under direction of Crews Funeral Home. He was born Feb. 1, 1935, west of Verden to Homer and Virginia Gooden. He lived in the Fletcher area most of his life. He married Karen Greathouse on Aug. 2, 1957, in Clovis, N.M. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. After leaving the military, he moved back to Fletcher in March 1959. He worked for Arkla Gas for 33 years, and retired in 1992 when he was construction foreman. He and his wife began farming near Apache and Verden in 1972. He was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Apache; three sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Barbara Gooden, and Kenneth and Debbie Gooden, all of Apache; and Dennis and Carla Gooden, Mesquite, Texas; and 14 grandchildren.
