The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ==================================================================== Obit from Carnegie Herald, July 2, 1947 Sarah Jane Hixon Rites At Alfalfa Following Stroke Services for Sarah Jane Hixon, 71, who died suddenly of a stroke June 23 while visiting her son, Luther, at Chickasha, were at 3 p.m. Wednesday of last week in the Baptist church at Alfalfa. Burial was in the Alfalfa cemetery. Mrs. Hixon had been in good health except for her failing eyesight. She made her home with her sister Mrs. Sam Brown, on East First street. She went to Chickasha by bus on Wednesday before she was stricken on Monday. Sarah Jane Bizzell was born at Newport, Ark, April 3, 1876. She was married to Frank Hixon at Cureall Springs, Mo, Jan 12, 1891. They came here in 1898. Mr. Hixon died June 16, 1936. Mrs. Hixon was converted when she was 12 years old and was a member of the Nazarene church. Survivors include a son, Luther Hixon, Chickasha; a daughter, Mrs. Mayo Riley, Weatherford, TX; three sisters, Mrs. Brown of this place; Mrs. Frank Hodge, Long Beach, and Mrs. H.O. Richardson, Torrance, Calif, and two brothers, J.M. Bizzell, Foss and A.W. Bizzell, Oklahoma City. Relatives from a distance who were here for the funeral were Bud and Murrary Bizzell, Foss; Mrs. Milt Williams, Erick; A.W. Bizzell, Oklahoma City; Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Bizzell and Charles of Shawnee, and J.H., G.M. and G.D.
