All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Hewett, Opal May Funeral services for Opal May Hewett, age 91 of Blanchard, were held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 3, 2002, in the Binyon Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in the Blanchard Cemetery by Binyon Funeral Home, Tri City area of Blanchard, Oklahoma. Opal was born the daughter of Olga Burris Shaffer and Charley Shaffer on February 28, 1911, near Binger, Caddo County, Oklahoma. She died Sunday, December 1, 2002, at Blanchard, Oklahoma. She was married to Frank Anson Hewett on April 30, 1931, at Oklahoma City. They moved to Middleberg from Oklahoma City after their marriage and made Middleberg their home. Opal was active in the Home Demonstration Clubs in the area and also taught Sunday School at the Baptist Church. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters. Her husband, Frank, died on May 10, 1967. She was also preceded in death by a son Charley Hewett and a daughter Willa Fenimore. Survivors include daughter and her husband, Eva and Roger Fick of Centennial, Colorado, daughter and her husband, Sudie and Ron Griffin of Blanchard; sisters, Velma Speer of Oklahoma City, Bernadine Jernigan of Jones, Oklahoma; brother, Jesse Shaffer of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
