Hill, 91, of Napa, died peacefully the evening of Oct. 6, 2003. She was born in 1912 in Hinton, Okla., to Louise and John Dougherty. After the passing of her husband of many years, William "Blackie" Hill, Eleanor moved to Napa in 1981 to be close to her son, William Hill, and his family. Eleanor was very active in the Saint John's Lutheran Church of Napa, where she had many dear friends. She also had numerous family members in the area. Eleanor is survived by her sister, Bernice Brown, with whom she lived in Napa; her son, William Hill, his son, Jason Hill, and his daughter, Elana Hill. Additional Survivors include her brother, Vincent Eugene Dougherty of Tonkawa, Okla., and a large clan of relatives in Oklahoma, Texas and California. Local relatives include Rebecca and David Hudgins of Napa and their daughter, Elizabeth, and son, Wesley. A service to celebrate Eleanor's life is to be conducted at Saint John's Lutheran Church, located at 3521 Linda Vista Ave., in Napa.
