Hinton CEMENT - Funeral for John D. Hinton, 84, Cement, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church with Alvin Roberts and Dale Stephens, nephew, officiating. Mr. Hinton died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, in Chickasha. Burial will be at Cement Cemetery under direction of McRay's Cyril Funeral Home. He was born April 25, 1918, in Cole, to Mac Andrew Hinton and Anna Resneder Hinton. He graduated from Cole School and moved to California where he worked as a ranch hand training roping horses. He joined the Army at age 18, and served in the Pacific during World War II. He earned the rank of staff sergeant at age 22 and was in the 383rd Infantry Regiment. He married Nell McGuire in California, and they moved to Oklahoma. She later died. He was a truck driver for Harrison Gypsum Rock Crushing Plant until he retired. He married Faye Lavelle Talbert on Sept. 11, 1999, in Balko. He was a member of Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Cement; two sons: Johnny McGuire, Poteau; and Robert Hinton, Cement; five daughters: Cheryl Fanning, Anadarko; Terri Chaney and Patricia Nix, both of Cement; Sheila Williamson, Alex; and Anna Jean Fisher, El Reno; two stepdaughters: Delva Mandrell, Ninnekah; and Redonda Thomas, Bridgecreek; a stepson, Bill Talbert, Russelville, Ark.; two brothers: Bill Hinton, Boise City; and Gene Hinton, Liberal, Kan.; 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
