C. Henderson Funeral Held Funeral services for Cordia Henderson, 86, of Fort Cobb were held at 10 am Monday in the Fort Cobb First Baptist Church. The Rev. Leon Shade, pastor, officiated. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Preston Hawkins, organist, who accompanied a quartet, John Bellamy, Roland Edge, Perry Green, and Glenn Haas, who sang 'In the Garden' and 'Victory in Jesus.' Ron Henderson, a grandson, sang 'How Great Thou Art,' accompanied by Aletha Gibson, a granddaughter. Pallbearers were A.C. Harris of Hobart, Bob Hendricks, Roy Phillips, Floyd Ratliff, Carl Weaver and Doyle White, all of Fort Cobb. Burial was in the Fort Cobb Cemetery under direction of the Fort Cobb Funeral Home. Mrs. Henderson was born May 22, 1901 in Harrison, Arkansas, and died Friday in a Carnegie Nursing Home. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Fort Cobb Christian Church and the South Pioneer Extension Club. She married Chester Henderson, May 1, 1920 at Fort Cobb. He died June 1, 1979. Survivors include six sons, Vernon L., Thomas Harold, R.G., Ralph, Bart and Curt, all of Fort Cobb; one daughter, Margie Goodwin of Fairland; three sisters, Cora Fisher, Lora Phillips, and Lecy Starr, all of Fort Cobb; one brother, Jess Harris of Wickenburg, Arizona; twenty-six grandchildren and forty-four great grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
