All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Laverty Cemetery--Laverty OK © The Chickasha Express-Star Wednesday, 15 Mar 2000 Ollen Merrel Hunter Funeral for Ollen Merrel Hunter, 67, of Cement, will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2000, in the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Cement with Rev. Alvin Roberts, pastor, officiating. Mr. Hunter died at his home, Saturday, March 11, 2000. Burial will be in the Laverty cemetery, northeast of Cement, under direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Nov. 17, 1932 in Cement and graduated from Cement High School. He married Gayla Sue Holmes, March 3, 1956 in Anadarko. They moved to Longview, Texas in 1966, and he was employed by ARCO, (Atlantic Richfield Company). After moving back to Cement in 1983, he retired from ARCO in 1984. He was a Baptist and enjoyed traveling and camping. Survivors include: wife Gayla Sue of the home; two sons, David of Gladewater, Texas and Steve of Harleton, Texas; one daughter, Sharlet Roberts of Cement; two sisters, Kerney Thompson of Lubbock, Texas and Jean Hooper of Edmond; one brother, Arlis Hunter of California; six grandchildren, Brandon Roberts, Jeffrey Roberts, Misty Henderson, Brooke Hunter, Derek Hunter and Sarah Hunter; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kalvey H. Hunter and Lillie (Martin) Hunter, a brother, Ernest Rogers, and three sisters, Margie Hedgecock, Lucille Walker and Alice Allen.
