Clifford Hamilton Funeral Mass Thursday, 10 a.m. Clifford J. Hamilton, a long-time and well known farmer of the Hydro area, died Tuesday morning in Southwestern Memorial Hospital, Weatherford, following a long illness. He was 75 years old on December 7, 1970. Wake services for Mr. Hamilton were held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the R.L. Lockstone Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass is at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (today) in St. Eugene's Catholic church, Weatherford, with Rev. Denis Hanrahan officiating. C.J. Hamilton Funeral Rites Held Thursday Funeral services for Clifford Joseph Hamilton, 75, of Hydro were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 14, in St. Eugene Catholic church in Weatherford with Rev. Denis Hanrahan officiating. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Hydro. Military graveside rites were conducted by the Leonard-Brown American Legion Post No. 83. Bearers were Arthur Easley, Charles Cole, Lew McCullock, Ed Megli, Walter Kamm and Charley Rawls. Mr. Hamilton, who had lived on the same farm near Hydro for 51 years, died Tuesday morning in Southwestern Memorial Hospital. Rev. Hanrahan conducted a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lockstone funeral home chapel. Born December 7, 1895 in Andover, Missouri, he came to Oklahoma in 1900 and lived near Oklahoma City. In 1906 he settled on a farm north of Hydro. In 1917 he entered the army and served in France and Germany during World War I. Following his army discharge he returned to Hydro and in 1920 was married to Miss Christina Niehues. He had been in failing health for the past eight years and became seriously ill three months ago. He is survived by his wife, Christina of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Bernadine Wells of Bethany, Mrs. Olive Boerner of Richmond, Vermont, and Mrs. Lula Marie Hudson of Yukon; a brother, Roy Hamilton of Westphalia, Kansas; six sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Benne and Mrs. Leona Young, both of Westphalia, Kansas, Mrs. mattie Shanks of Midwest City, Mrs. Velma Lane of National City, California, Mrs. Lura Heineman of ElCajohn, California and Mrs. Earlene Parsons of San Diego, California; and six grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
