HARRIS Apache--Services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 29, 1974 in the Crews Funeral Home Chapel (in Apache) for James M. Harris, 77, a former Apache resident. He died Thursday (26-Dec-1974) in a Chickasha hospital following an extended illness. Rev. Danny Moss, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Apache, conducted the service. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Harris was born Oct. 18,1897 in Oklahoma. He was married to the former Thelma Davenport in Duncan. She preceded him in death in 1932. He was employed as a telegrapher for the Rock Island Railroad for many years. He came to Apache as an agent for the railroad in 1940, then was transferred to Mangum, where he retired in 1962. Harris was a member of the First Christian Church of Mangum and was a past grand master of the Odd Fellow Lodge of Lone Wolf. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elton D.
