Burial was in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, Caddo co., Ok. under the direction of the Smith Funeral Chapel of Anadarko. Buzbee was born 29-Oct-1914 in Bentonville, Ark. to Walter Lewis and Margaret (DARDEN) COBURN. She married 15-Jul-1934 in Allen, Glenwood BUZBEE. She graduated from Allen High School and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Anadarko Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lewis Coburn. Survivors include her husband, two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. =========================================================================== CARROLL, GORDON H. Services were held 05-Jan-2000 at the Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha, Grady co., Ok. for Gordon H. Carroll who died 03-Jan-2000 in Chickasha. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Chickasha under the direction of the Ferguson Funeral Home of Chickasha. Carroll was born 07-Nov-1918 at Hinton, Caddo co., Ok. to Joe and Ethel (WILSON) CARROLL. He married 24-Mar-1947 in Wichita Falls, Tex. Juanta GARRETT. He was raised east of Hinton, attending East Walnut School and graduating from Binger High School. He lived in Hinton until moving to Chickasha in 1962. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving in the U.S. Navy in WWII from 1942 until 1945, and the Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, two grandsons, four great-grandchildren, one brother and three sisters. =========================================================================== DAVIS, WAVERLY Services were held 05-Jan-2000 at the Fort Cobb Funeral Home Chapel of Fort Cobb, Caddo co., Ok. for Waverly Davis who died 03-Jan-2000 in Carnegie, Caddo co., Ok. Burial was in the Fort Cobb Cemetery under the direction of the Fort Cobb Funeral Home. Davis was born 29-Nov-1907 in Big Flatt, Baxter co., Ark. to Willis and Dora (NORMAN) DAVIS. He married 30-Nov-1928 in Big Flatt the former Eula DAVIS. He lived and farmed in the Broxton-Fort Cobb area all of his life. he was preceded in death by one brother, Beverly Davis; one sister, Fay Haas; one great-grandson, Scott Bufkin, and one great-great-grandson, Tanner Cobb. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, two sons, one brother, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. =========================================================================== FINN, LOIS CAROLE Services were held 06-Jan-2000 at the First Baptist Church in Anadarko, Caddo co., Ok. for Lois Carole Finn who died 03-Jan-2000 in Oklahoma City, Ok. Burial was in the Memory Lane Cemetery at Anadarko, Caddo co., Ok. under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home of Anadarko. Finn was born 17-Oct-1950 in Anadarko to Wilford and Bette ROGERS. She graduated from high school in 1968 from Long Beach, Miss. She worked in Civil Services at Fort Sill, Ok., Hawaii and Louisiana. She became chief of civilian pay and was medically retired in 1993. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, leading Music Makers Children's Choir, Girls in Action Mission groups and taught second grade Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; an infant son, William; and three uncles, Raymond and Alvin Rogers and Bill Colburn. Survivors included a daughter, her parents, one sister, two uncles and three aunts. =========================================================================== GLOVER, CLARENCE 'Teck' Graveside services were held 04-Jan-2000 in the Carnegie Cemetery at Carnegie, Caddo co., Ok. for Clarence 'Teck' Glover, 77, who died 02-Jan-2000 in Carnegie. =========================================================================== GURICH, RAMONA BELL BROOKS Memorial services were held 07-Jan-2000 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, Ok. for Ramona Bell Brooks Gurich who died 31-Dec-1999 in Oklahoma City. Burial was in the Memory Lane Cemetery at Anadarko, Caddo co., Ok.. Gurich was born 22-Feb-1921 in Anadarko to Spencer A. and Rosa P. (VANDEVENTER) BROOKS. She married in 1944 John Gurich. She graduated from Anadarko High School in 1938. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha from 1939 to 1942. She lived in South Bend, Ind. and Mishawaka, Ind. until her husband's death in 1990 when she moved to Oklahoma. She was an elementary school teacher and taught kindergarten and pre-kindergarten for 15 years. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters. Survivors include two daughters, two sons, one grandchild, three great-grandchildren and one sister. =========================================================================== LOPEZ, RUBY AUTAUBO Services were held 08-Jan-2000 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anadarko, Caddo co., Ok. for Ruby Autaubo Lopez who died 02-Jan-2000 in Anadarko, Caddo co. Ok. A rosary service was held 07-Jan-2000 at the Smith Funeral Chapel of Anadarko. Burial was in the Memory Lane Cemetery at Anadarko. Lopez was born 19-Jul-1924 in the Alden Community, west of Anadarko, to Francis and Susie (FRIZZLEHEAD) TAWKOYTY. She married 11-Jul-1944 in Lawton, Comanche co., Ok. Melton Lopez. She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe and had served as Curator of the Kiowa Tribe Museum. She also served as Kiowa Tribe Community Representative for the Anadarko Area. She was a noted shawl maker. She was a retired Civil Service employee of the Riverside Indian School in Anadarko and Concho Indian School in El Reno, Ok. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Bobby Taptto and one sister, Kathleen Goombi Redbone. Survivors include one son, five grandchidren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters. =========================================================================== MERIWETHER, LAVILA MAE Services were held 04-Jan-2000 at the First United Methodist Church in Hinton, Caddo co, Ok. for Lavila Mae Meriwether, 56, of Hinton who died 01-Jan-2000 in Weatherford, Ok. Burial was in the Hinton Cemetery. =========================================================================== ROBERTS, ILA IONA Services were held 04-Jan-2000 at the First Christian Church in Cyril, Caddo co., Ok. for Ila Iona Roberts who died 02-Jan-2000 in Cyril. Burial was in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Binyon-Funeral Home of Cyril. Roberts was born 26-Feb-1921 in Cyril to Jeff and Lilly (CYRUS) DAVIS. She married in Fort Smith, Ark. C.E. 'Jack' ROBERTS. She grew up in Cyril and attended the Cyril Schools. She and her husband moved to Apache, Caddo co. Ok. and operated the City Cafe for three years. They moved west of Cyril in 1954. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and one grandchild. Services were held 07-Jan-2000 at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita, Kansas for Anna M. Sherrin, 71, who died 03-Jan-2000 in Wichita, Ks. Burial was 08-Jan-2000 in the Carnegie, Caddo co., Ok. Cemetery. =========================================================================== SILVERHORN, SR., MAX Services were held 04-Jan-2000 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko, Caddo co., Ok. for Max Silverhorn, Sr., who died 01-Jan-2000 in Anadarko. Prayer service was held 03-Jan-2000 at the Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko. Burial was in the Redstone Cemetery, west of Anadarko, under the direction of the Smith Funeral Chapel. Silverhorn was born 20-Feb-1914 in Stecker, Caddo co., Ok. to Haungooah (SILVERHORN), a famed storyteller and artist of the Saynday stories, and Taugoom (Hattie Ahboah) noted beadworker and buckskin dress maker. He was a member of the Native American Church and had once served as its local vice-president. He was a well known feather worker and bead worker. He was named an honorary member of the American Indian University of Oklahoma, Inc. He was preceded in death by one son, Max Silverhorn, Jr.; one daughter, Marlene Silverhorn; five brothers, James, George 'Dutch', Arthur, Chester and Robert Silverhorn and two sisters, Lucy and Mae Silverhorn. Survivors include five sons; four daughters; 35 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. ===========================================================================
