July 19, 1917 Col. 4. pg.4 THOMAS JAY'S SUDDEN DEATH Last Saturday, about 12:30, this community was shocked, when the sad news came over the telephone that Mr. Thomas JAY was dead at his home, 5 miles Northwest of Oney. Mr JAY had been sick only a few days, having been in Ft. Cobb on the Wednesday previous. He is survived by his widow and ten children. All were present, except one son. The funeral services were held at the home Sunday morning at 10 O'clock by Rev. Morley, who preached a very impressive and instructive sermon. The remains were laid to rest in the Sickles Cemetery to await the call in the resurrection morn.
