Nov. 7 in Norman. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Cal Brannon officiating. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Mr. James was born Aug. 4, 1910 in Hinton to Henry M. and Mary Sparks James. He was raised in Hinton, graduating from high school there. He then graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in accounting. Mr. James worked as a civilian personnel officer with the U.S. Army for more than 30 years, moving to Norman in 1969. He served on the Norman Library Board, was a Mason and a member of McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters and one son. Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Arta James, of Norman; son John Dennis James, of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; daughter Linda Morris, of Aurora, Colo.; sister Beatrice Tucker, of Oklahoma City; brother Henry James, of Norman; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
