Kuykendall, 86, were at 2:30 Friday afternoon in the Baptist church after his death Wednesday at his home southeast of town. He had been in failing health for more than two years and was seriously ill about a week before his death. Rev. Clyde N. Price, pastor, conducted the service and burial was in the Carnegie cemetery under direction of the Pitchers. The family came from Texas to Carnegie in 1904 and located seven miles south of town where they farmed about 20 years before returning to Texas. Three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Kuykendall returned here and have made their home southeast of town. He has been a member of the Christian church since 1901. James M. Kuykendall was born in Collins county, Texas, June 19, 1861. He was married to Eliza Ellen Summerville in December 1885, and to them nine children were born, all of whom are living. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. J.M. Kuykendall, of the home; their sons, Thos. G. and Wm. H. Kuykendall, Clinton; John R. of Anton, Texas; James M. of Lubbock, Texas; Jack L. Bobeetie, Texas, and N.B. of Carnegie, and three daughters, Mrs. L.E. Pruet, Carnegie; Mrs. J.O. Black, Lovington, New Mes., and Mrs. R.A. Tullis, Bakersfield, Calif. All were present for the service except Mrs. Tullis. Other survivors are a brother, John Kuykendall, Terrell, and a nephew, Chas. L.
