All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Saddle Mountain Cemetery--Saddle Mountain OK Lawton Constitution 29 Apr 2003 Melvin Kotay Funeral for Melvin Kotay, 81, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hunting Horse Indian United Methodist Church with the Rev. Margaret Battiest officiating. A prayer service will be from 7-9 p.m. today at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service Chapel. Mr. Kotay died Sunday, April 27, 2003, in Lawton. Burial with military honors will be at Saddle Mountain Cemetery. He was born March 20, 1922, in Apache, to Pearl Doyebi and Ray Kotay. He attended Broxton School. He entered the Army, and served as a medic in Okinawa during World War II. He married Birdi Toppah at Carnegie. He worked as a nurses' assistant at PHS Indian Hospital for 30 years until he retired. He was a member of Hunting Horse United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Marvin Kotay, Lawton; a daughter, Deborah Ann Adams; a stepdaughter, Doris Hall, Lawton; two brothers and a sister-in- law: Ralph Kotay and Larry and Phyllis Kotay, all of Apache; a sister, Freda Kotay, Anadarko; four grandsons: Joel E. Kotay, Ulric William Adams, Aaron Hall and Michael Hall; three granddaughters: Terri Winston, Angel and Robin Faye Kotay Harper; five great-grandchildren: Jordon B. Kotay, Seth Tartsah, Amelia Winston, and Rachel and Emanuel Winston.
