Orville Kirksey was born Dec. 24, 1907, and died on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 30 July 2004 ORVILLE MARLYN KIRKSEY Funeral service for Orville Marlyn Kirksey, age 96, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2004, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Don Gibson will officiate, and Rev. Chuck Fletcher will assist. Orville Marlyn Kirksey was born the son of Forrest Marlyn Kirksey and Nola A. Franklin Kirksey on December 24, 1907, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He died on July 28, 2004, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He married Mildren Ann O'Briant on March 1, 1930, in Binger, Oklahoma. At the age of eleven, Orville moved to the Chickasha area. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad for several years, then went into farming. Orville farmed in the Meridian community for approximately twenty years. Orville owned and operated TeePee Service Station for forty years. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Exie Rector, his wife, Mildred A. O'Briant Kirksey, one daughter, Lucille, and one son, Eugene "Bub" Kirksey. Survivors include his daughter, Louise Lamb of Chickasha; granddaughter, Vickie Van Hooser of Edmond; granddaughter and husband, Donna and Dale DeKinder of Alexandria, Virginia; grandson and wife, Ricky and Tammi Bailey of Ninnekah; granddaughter and husband, Cheryl and Ben Wittington of San Clemente, California; grandson and wife, Kenneth and Joyce Kirksey of Chickasha; grandson and wife, Alan and Janice Kirksey of Duncan; granddaughter, Kay Kirksey of Midwest City; daughter-in-law, Wilma Kirksey of Chickasha; 14 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
