Ok. A rosary service was held 07-Jan-2000 at the Smith Funeral Chapel of Anadarko. Burial was in the Memory Lane Cemetery at Anadarko. Lopez was born 19-Jul-1924 in the Alden Community, west of Anadarko, to Francis and Susie FRIZZLEHEAD) TAWKOYTY. She married 11-Jul-1944 in Lawton, Comanche co., Ok. Melton Lopez. She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe and had served as Curator of the Kiowa Tribe Museum. She also served as Kiowa Tribe Community Representative for the Anadarko Area. She was a noted shawl maker. She was a retired Civil Service employee of the Riverside Indian School in Anadarko and Concho Indian School in El Reno, Ok. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Bobby Taptto and one sister, Kathleen Goombi Redbone.
