Burial was in the Fort Cobb Cemetery under the direction of the Fort Cobb Funeral Home of Fort Cobb. Leighton was born 06-Apr-1919 in Kingfisher, Ok. to John William LEIGHTON and Nellie A. MEEK. He married in 1947 Ruby Lee CLIFT in Wichita Falls, Tx. She preceded him in death in 1975. He married in February 1977 Juanita Moran CLARK. He served in the U.S. Army in 191, then joined the U.S.Navy in 1943. He served through World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard Leighton, Jr., three brothers and two sisters.
