LANNING APRIL 25, 1923 - JUNE 4, 2007 Mrs. Lanning was born in Fort Cobb, OK. She live forty-five years in Merced and moved to Modesto in 1991. She lived the last year of her life at Bethel Community Retirement until passing away at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House. She was a homemaker and a nurse. After retiring from nursing her hobbies were gardening and traveling with her husband in their recreational vehicle. She is survived by her daughter Kay and husband Jack Washburn of Modesto, Grandson Matthew and wife Lindsay Washburn of San Bruno, Granddaughter Carol and Great-grandson Gavin Washburn of Walnut Creek, and a brother Raymond Haygood of OK. Mrs. Lanning was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Lanning and grandson Richard Washburn, two sisters and three brothers. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 12.00 - 3.00 PM at Stratford Evans Funeral Chapel in Merced. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 11.00 AM at Merced Cemetery District with a gathering afterwards at the reception hall at Stratford Evans.
