All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== McLane, Robert Dale Robert Dale, of Del City, went home to be with his Lord February 21, 2003. Born July 10, 1918 in Binger, OK to Jesse and Ruth Mitchell McLane, Bob graduated from Lookeba High School and served in the United States Navy in World War II as a ship radioman and gunner. He saw combat in North Africa and Europe, including Omaha Beach on D-Day. During the war he married Genevieve Piatt, and after his discharge, they settled in OKC to rear a family. Bob was an award-winning appliance salesman at OTASCO, where he enjoyed meeting people and helping them with their needs. He served his church as a Bible teacher to youth and adults. In retirement, he continued to enjoy life and sought to encourage and support those round him. Bob is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Genevieve; son, Jon and wife Darinda of Houston, TX; daughter, Karen Marlow and husband Joe of Overland Park, KS; and grandchildren: Jennifer Classen, Jonathan Marlow, and Ryan McLane. Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Whiting. He fought a courageous battle with cancer with the assistance of his caregivers, Lyn Frazier, Julia Ballard, and Bertha Lee. Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, at First Southern Baptist Church, with interment following at Resthaven Cemetery. Family will receive relatives and friends at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City from 5-7pm, Tuesday.
