All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Fairview Cemetery--Apache OK Lawton Constitution 20 Mar 2003 Alvin Houston McCracken APACHE — Funeral for Alvin Houston McCracken, 88, Apache, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Apache First Baptist Church with the Rev. A.L. Swagerty officiating. Mr. McCracken died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Apache, under direction of Crews Funeral Home. He was born June 8, 1914, north of Apache, to Sam Houston and Wavy Louise McCracken. He married Jessie Pauline Webb on May 9, 1934, in Chickasha. She died Oct. 15, 1967. He lived in Apache most of his life, and owned several businesses including McCracken's Service Station, Tasty Cream, McCracken's Grocery and McCracken's Car Wash. He retired in 1970. He married Bertha Muhr on June 2, 1968, in Fletcher. He was mayor of Apache from 1965 until 1969. He was a past member of the Apache Chamber of Commerce, Apache Rotary Club and Apache School Board. He was also a member of Apache First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons: Jim McCracken and Alvin H. McCracken Jr., both of Apache; a daughter, Judy Roberts, Apache; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Delia Moore, Oklahoma City.
