"Pete" Mead CARNEGIE — Funeral for Claud E. "Pete" Mead, 98, Carnegie, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carnegie First Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Blount officiating. Mr. Mead died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Carnegie. Burial will be at Carnegie Cemetery under direction of Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home, Carnegie. He was born July 20, 1905, in Sayre to Adam Monroe and Georgana Pearl Washburn Mead. He married Florence Alberta King on Aug. 7, 1925, in Chickasha. She died in 2002. He attended Carnegie First Baptist Church. He had lived in the Carnegie area since 1922 and was a member of the volunteer fire department. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Bernice Mead, Tustin, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Colleen and Loyd Vance, Carnegie; and Claudene and John Thomson, Muskogee; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons; and other relatives and friends.
