Mrs. Malakosky died Monday, 15-Jan-2001 at the Parkview Hospital in El Reno, Canadian co., Ok. Officiating was the Rev. Mark Barnett. Burial was in the Hinton Cemetery under the direction of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home of Hinton. Mrs. Malakosky was born 24-Feb-1916 in Gracemont, Caddo county, Ok. to Milton and Josie May (Smith) Mears. She married Wilbur Malakosky 08-Jan-1933 at the Methodist Parsonage at Gracemont. He preceded her in death 13-Feb-1963. She attended schools at Star and Gracemont. She moved to the Hydro-Hinton area in 1940 from Gracemont. She and her husband ran several farms, owned two gas stations, operated a restaurant and did custom harvesting. After the death of her husband she cooked at several area restaurants. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hinton. Preceding her in death besides her husband were her parents; one son, Bobby Duane Malakosky; five brothers, Lloyd, Fred, Orval, Cheat and Clyde Mears and two sisters, Ethel Mears and Pauline Stevens. Survivors include four children, Carolyn Kimble of El Reno, Butch Malakosky of Hinton, Kerry Malakosky and his wife, Jane Ann, of Lawton, Ok. and Judy Simmons and her husband, Ed, of Hinton; six grandchildren, Shara Dawn Kimble Christensen and Terry Christensen, and Kaci and Marcus Caldwell, all of Hinton, Launa Kimble Clinton and Kenneth Clinton, both of Thomas, Colby Malakosky of Tennessee, Amanda Malakosky and Rachel Malakosky, both of Lawton; four great grandchildren, Clay Clinton and Kenzi Clinton, both of Thomas, and Kara Christensen and Dakin Caldwell, both of Hinton. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
