All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Consitituion 9 Oct 2004 Karen Elizabeth Monroe MOUNTAIN VIEW Funeral for Karen Elizabeth Monroe, 67, Mountain View, will be at 10 a.m. today at Mountain View United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lynn Richardson and Cyndy Schillinger officiating. Mrs. Monroe died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at her home. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery under direction of Hackney Funeral Home. She was born July 20, 1937, in Alfalfa, to Clifford and Pearl Pickrell Jones. She married Dale Monroe on March 23, 1957, in Alfalfa. He died April 27, 2002. They owned and operated Monroe's Beauty Shop in Mountain View. She was also a cashier at Mountain View Hop and Sack for 18 years. She was a member of Mountain View First United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters: Karen Ann Coffman and her husband, John, Lawton; Dalene Combs and her husband, Chris, and Nicole Monroe, all of Mountain View; three grandchildren: Tori, Scott Henry and Ty Combs, all of Mountain View; three step-grandchildren: Michael and Richard Coffman, both of Lawton; and Nathan Combs, Healdton; a brother, Donald Jones and wife, Jo, Runaway Bay, Texas; three sisters and brothers-in-law: LoLeta and Carroll King, Carnegie; Treva and Clyde Baker, Benson, Ariz.; and Gayle and Wayne Harris, Colony; two brothers-in-law: John Monroe and wife, Katie, San Clemente, Calif.; and Howard Monroe and wife, Goldie, San Antonio; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Scott.
