Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. wed, June 25, in the Church of Christ in Rush Springs with Clif Werhan officiating. Burial was in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb funeral Home. Mr. Murray was born August 2, 1908 in Cement, the son of George Frank and Maggie Haun Murray. He was married to Lela M. "Lady" Parrish in Chickasha on May 30, 1931. He had lived in Rush Springs since 1928. He attended Garvin Springs and Hughes schools. He was employed at First National Bank in Rush Springs for over 40 years. He was a member of the Rush Springs Lions Club for over 50 years and severed as song leader for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Rush Springs where he served as song leader and Elder. He wrote many songs and poems. Mr. Murray was named "Outstanding citizen" in Rush Springs in 1963 was Chisholm Trail Honoree in 1984 and a Lions Club member he worked at the annual Watermelon Festival and master of ceremonies for the queen and tiny tots contest for many years. He was also an avid fisherman.
