Marcum Rites Wednesday For N.H. Marcum Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Cement Wednesday (Feb. 20) for N.H. Marcum, 73, who died Sunday night in his home in Cement following a heart attack. Rev. Jack Stuart, pastor, officiated and burial was in the IOOF cemetery, Cement, under the direction of the Dalton Funeral Home. A pioneer citizen, Mr. Marcum was born in 1884 in Dallas county, Texas, and came to Oklahoma in 1898. Coming to Cement in 1914, he was engaged in the grocery business until his retirement. He had attended services Sunday night at the Cement Church of Christ of which he was a member, and suffered a heart attack soon after returning home. He was married to Miss Rose E. Saylors in 1903. She preceded him in death in 1952. Survivors include his wife, Lois, of the home; three sons, J.P. of Indiahoma; A.H. of Manchester, Tenn.; and L.B. of Cement; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Dryden of Oklahoma City; a brother, Bill Marcum of Ada; five step-children; five grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren. Casket bearers were H.T. Holding, Joe Porterfield, Dave Petty, Ogden King, Gale Kelly and Bruce Bailey. (Note: He was honorary bearer at the funeral of Mrs. Edmona L. Cost on Feb. 15.
