Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Claude Cemetery in Claude with Bob Thomas, chaplain of Crown of Texas Hospice in Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin was born July 8, 1912, in Margaret, to Christopher L. Carter and Jim Anna Pennington Carter and was raised in Anadarko, Okla. She married Cata Kemp on Nov. 5, 1938, in Claude. She moved to Dumas in 1942 where she lived until moving to Wheeler in 1997. She married Robert H. Martin on June 9, 1986, in Clayton, N.M. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church of Dumas. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1981; her second husband in 1998; a daughter, Karen Vines in 1997; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; eight brothers; and five sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Jerry Taylor-Wheeler and husband, Kermit; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great- great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Youth Fund; or Wheeler Care Center. Amarillo Globe-News, May 21, 2002
