'Dude' NEAL Apache--Funeral services for Hiram W. 'Dude' Neal, 76, of Apache were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 3 in the First Baptist Church of Apache. Rev. Ray Wood, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Crews Funeral Home. Neal died Wednesday in the Anadarko Municipal Hospital following a lengthy illness. A former mayor of Apache and retired businessman, Neal was born Nov. 11, 1898 in Cameron. He married the former Eunice M. Basinger Oct. 8, 1917 in Greenwood. They moved to Apache in 1933 and farmed northeast of town until 1938 when he opened a service station in town. He later owned and operated an ice dock and grocery store until his retirement in 1970. Neal served two terms on the Apache town council and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
