Freda B., a resident of Oklahoma City, went to be with her Lord on January 2, 2003 at the age of 89 years and 3 days. She was born at Hinton, Oklahoma on December 30, 1913 to Fred and Edna Dodson. Most of her early life was spent in the Hinton community where she met the love of her life, Harold W. Nance. They were married October 30, 1930, and celebrate 71 years of marriage. A faithful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she delighted in cooking for her family and in making a home for them all. Around 1949 the family moved to Oklahoma City where she spent the rest of her life being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Freda was an avid quilter and loved to fish and travel. In their retirement years, she and Harold spent many happy times traveling to the Gulf of Mexico to fish. Mrs. Nance was preceded in death by her husband Harold; her parents, one sister Chloe; a son Harold W. Nance, Jr.; two grandsons: Russell Earles and Dennis Nance; and son-in-law Kenneth Earles. She is survived by three children: daughter Lena B. Earles of Hinton, son Jerry C. Nance and wife Connie of Newcastle, and daughter Cheryl Molsbee and husband John of Oklahoma City; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will welcome your visits at Vondel Smith Funeral Home South on Sunday afternoon between 2:00PM and 4:00 PM. Memorial services will be held Monday January 6, 2003 at 10:00AM at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle, Oklahoma. The church is located on Highway 76, 3½ miles south of Highway 37.
