OGLE Funeral services for Dorothy J. Ogle, 81, of Chickasha, Okla., are pending with Ferguson Funeral Home. Dorothy was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Chickasha, and died Monday, May 24, 2004, in Moore, Okla. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 25 May 2004 DOROTHY J. SMITH OGLE Graveside services for Dorothy Ogle, 82, born February 24, 1922, at Blanchard, Oklahoma, will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery, with Reverend Kim Hayes, of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Dorothy went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 24, 2004, at her daughter's home in Moore, Oklahoma, after suffering for more than 10 years with Alzheimer's. Dorothy worked for a lifetime as a farmer's wife and mother, but also had some outside jobs at the following places: roller skating car hop, The Egg Plant, George's Steak House, the old Host Restaurant on the turnpike, Tag Office, Maremont, Gentry's, and Redding Insurance. She was married to the love of her life, Leon Ogle, on June 8, 1940, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They hitchhiked to Fresno, California, during the Oklahoma Dust Bowl. They lived there for a few years before returning to Oklahoma. They were together for 62 years before his death on May 13, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alta Mae (Strebar) Smith; one brother, Charles Smith; and one sister, Norma Hurst. She will be missed dearly by five children and their spouses: Barbara and Don Beaver, and Alta Joe O'Neal of Moore, Oklahoma, George and Vicki Ogle of Ft. Worth, Texas; Rhonda and Tommy Phillips, Noel and Margie Ogle, all of Chickasha, Oklahoma. She has 15 grandchildren: Sherri Blankenship, Terri Denison, Dorothy Ray, Steve Baker, Kenny O'Neal, Kory Robertson, Michelle Lobpries, Brad Ogle, Tommy Phillips Jr., Chuck Phillips, Pen Phillips, Patrick Phillips, Brandy Chaney, Cody Ogle, and Daniel Ogle. She has 19 great grandchildren: Robbie, Robbin, Blythe, Trey, Rainey, Megan, Colton, Jacob, Stephanie, Abigail, Truman, Preston, Kate, Thomas III, Tabitha, Kyla, Devin, Emma and Cooper. They all live without a 200- mile radius of their Grandma. She is also survived by two sisters: Margie Lee and Anna Myers; sisters- in-law: Margurete Smith Ivie, Clara June Smart, Ruby Parrish, and Della Bingham; brothers-in-law and their wives: Bill and Lucille Ogle, and Terry and Frances Ogle; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
