OTEY Graveside service for Leonard V. Otey, age 94, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2005, in the Laverty Cemetery. Leonard was born the son of Thomas E. Otey and Mattie Gertrude White Otey on April 17, 1911, south of Verden. He died on November 26, 2005, in Chickasha. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 29 November 2005 LEONARD V. OTEY Graveside service for Leonard V. Otey, age 94, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2005, in the Laverty Cemetery. Leonard was born the son of Thomas E. Otey and Mattie Gertrude White Otey on April 17, 1911, south of Verden. He died on November 26, 2005, in Chickasha. Leonard lived his entire live in Caddo and Grady County, where he farmed and ranched. He was a hard working man who also worked in the oilfield while he was farming and ranching. On September 24, 1929, he married Ruby Estella Rawson in Verden. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who especially loved being with his family. He also loved to hunt, fish, and play dominoes. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby, two sons, Jay and Vaughn Otey; son-in-law, L. B. Wyatt; grandson, Ronnie Wyatt; great grandson Clint Wyatt; three sisters, Ruth Talkington, Ruby Townsend, and Blanche Long; brother, Thomas Otey. Survivors include: daughter: Joyce Wyatt of Hydro, OK; son: Dale Otey of Cement; son and wife Delbert and Janet Otey of Corona, CA; son and wife Larry and Donna Otey of Alex; sister and husband: Lois and Bill Dill of Chickasha; brother and wife: Edward and Imogene Otey of Anadarko; daughter-in-law: Freida Michael of Ardmore; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.
