Pitcher Dies; Was Pioneer of City F.M. Pitcher, well known Carnegie resident and business man since 1906 and who served as city clerk for two terms, passed away at his home here Thursday at 5 p.m. after an illness of several months. Mr. Pitcher moved to Weatherford in 1902, living there four years before coming to Carnegie to enter the furniture and undertaking business. He was active in his profession until his health forced him to retire. Francis Marion Pitcher was born in Bremer county, Iowa July 4, 1867 and passed away April 9, 1936, aged 68 years, 9 months and 5 days. Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 p.m. at ther Methodist church with Rev. Armstrong, presiding elder of the Chickasha district, officiating, assisted by Rev. W.A.R. Lovell. Interment was in Carnegie cemetery under direction of Knight Funeral home. A quartet composed of C.M. Hartman, John Rodgers, Anna Maude Covin and Mrs. J.W. Bybee, accompanied by Mrs. F.J. Daubert at the piano, sang "Face To Face," and "Lead Kindly Light." Mrs. Covin sang as a solo, "There Will Be No Tears In Paradise." J. Henry Long assisted with a violin obligato for the ressional. Pall bearers wer E.E. Charles, Earl Roddy, G.H. Melton, Percy Wilson, G.E. Cole and Dr. I.J. Thomas. Mr. Pitcher was married to Lucy J. Green May 1, 1889. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Nettie Campbell, C.A. Pitcher and Mrs. Hazel Brown. Mrs. Brown preceded him in death November 2, 1924. His aged father and mother passed away only a few years ago and a grandson, Carroll Boyd Pitcher died June 14, 1933. He leaves to mourn his going his wife, two children, four grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. --------------------------------------------------------------------
