All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Eagle Point National Cemetery--Eagle Point OR Eugene Register Guard Darrel Phillips The funeral will be held May 17 for Darrel Hilary Phillips of Eugene, who died May 10 of cancer. He was 77. Phillips was born May 29, 1926, in Fort Cobb, Okla., to John and Ann McManus Phillips. He married Betty Smith in Yuma, Ariz., on Nov. 30, 1942. He settled in this area 36 years ago. He served in the Army during World War II. He owned and operated an automobile sale business and was a member of the Oregon Independent Automobile Association since 1986. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 83 in Eugene and the Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and working with his hands. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Dianne Hughes of New Mexico, Barbara Wooten and Donna Yost, both of Colorado and Sandra Martin of Oregon; a brother, Marion of Texas; two sisters, Rachel Zeigler of Washington and Leota Gibson of California; five grandchildren; three step- grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Monday's service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Santa Clara Church of Christ in Eugene. Private burial will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
