All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Ocean View Memory Gardens--Coos Bay OR Porter, Doris Mae Aug. 19, 1931 - Oct. 19, 2006 A memorial service for Doris Mae Porter, 75, of Coos Bay, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, at Skyline Baptist Church, 3451 Liberty, in North Bend, with Pastor Brett Siegalkoff officiating. Private interment will be at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay. Doris was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Bridgeport, Okla., the daughter of Neal and Eunice (Evans) Crothers. She died Oct. 19, 2006, in Coos Bay. She spent most of her life in California, and married Curtis P. "Pat" Porter on Sept. 16, 1956. She did a lot of traveling with her husband, who was in the U.S. Air Force. They spent time in Bermuda, Texas, California and Colorado. She loved cooking and camping, and they supported many charities. Doris was a member of Skyline Baptist Church. Doris is survived by her husband, Curtis Porter of Coos Bay; sister, Joyce Duval of Washington; brother, Neal Crothers of California; daughter, Joyce Morton and husband, Marvin, and their four children, Seth, Ashlie, Emilie and Madison, all of Elko, Nev.; son-in-law, Karl Coleman of Myrtle Creek; and daughter, Brandy Coleman of Portland. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family suggests memorial contributions to The Samaratin's Purse Relief Fund, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607; or to the American Cancer Society, Coos County Unit, 31 W. Sixth St., Medford, OR 97501. Arrangements are under the direction of Coos Bay Chapel, 267-3131.
