Officiating was Rev. Donald Wright. Services were under the direction of the Binger Funeral Home of Binger. Raffety was born 22-Jan-1931 in Santa Rosa, Calif. to Thomas Frank and Ardena Frances (Plunk) Raffety. He married the former Roberta Faye Keechi 14-Feb-1960 in Minden, Nev. He was a graduate of Orosa High School and attended Humbolt State College in Arcata, Calif., and Linn-Benton Community College of Education in Monmouth, Ore. He had a certificate of police personnel from Northwest University in Illinois. He attended numerous schools sponored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation state and regional agencies during his 28 years of police experience, covering all phases of law enforcement. He served as a police officer with the Monterey, Calif., Watsonville, Calif., and Ketchican, Alaska police departments. He was appointed chief of police at Falls City, Ore., and assistant chief at Lincoln City, Ore. He joined the Polk county, Oregon Sheriff's Department where he was a patrol sergeant and was administrative assistant to the chief deputy. He resigned this position to move to Oklahoma where he has since resided. He was a past member of the Oregon Association of Chief of Police, the Oregon Police Officers Association and the National Sheriff's Association. He was a veteran of the United States Army, the 24th Infantry Division, 13th Field Artillery Battalion for four years, serving in combat in the Korean Conflict. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Edmond Raffety and three sisters, Sylvia Brown, Mildred Sinnett and Arveta Johnson.
